Make a commitment to yourself to get your carpets cleaned. The longer they remain dirty, the sooner they'll wear out. Plus the longer you have to breathe all the pollens, fungus, chemicals and dust mites that live in your carpet.

List your objectives. Do you want only the dirt removed, something you could do with a rented machine. Or do you want the bacteria, fungus and chemicals removed. Which will require a hot water truck mount cleaner, like I use. Do you want to work with a honest, reputable company--or are you willing to risk working with the company that offers you the lowest price--knowing that company may not be in business tomorrow.

Apply dish detergent solution and blot.

Apply ammonia solution. Blot again

Rinse with tap water and blot.

Apply white vinegar solution. blot again

Rinse with tap water and blot dry.

Coffee, Tea or Coke

Flush with cold water or bottled water.

Apply white vinegar solution and blot.

Rinse with water and blot dry.

Gum

Chill with ice cubes.

Scrape off as much of the gum as possible.

Apply dry cleaning solution and blot.

Crayons-Lipstick-Wax

Fruit-Juice-Jelly

Nail Polish

Cleaning methods vary depending on the type of glue. Many commercial products have special solvents available from the manufacture.

Apply laundry detergent solution and blot.

Rinse with tap water. Blot again

Apply ammonia solution. And blot

Apply white vinigar solution. Blot

Rinse with tap water and blot dry
